Help Refuge House with Cellphones!
Refuge House has been collecting used and unwanted cell phones for years to provide to our clients. To help our clients in case of emergency, we provide 9-1-1 ready phones to the women we serve.

However, there are many phones that are not viable for this program. Luckily, there is a program, called the Shelter Alliance, which recycles or reuses otherwise wasted cellphones. We are happy to announce that Refuge House has partnered with the Shelter Alliance! The proceeds from this collection partnership will benefit the women and children Refuge House serves, as well as our various domestic violence and advocacy and educational programs throughout the community.

High school students can help Refuge House while earning credit hours! For every 4 phones a student collects and sends to the Shelter Alliance program, they receive 1 hour of volunteer service credit! For more information on how you can help, contact us at the Refuge House at 922-6062.

The Shelter Alliance, located in Miramar, Florida is a firm that specializes in the logistics and underwriting of fundraising programs through the collection, resale, and responsible recycling of used cellular phones. Currently they work with over 500 domestic violence in 47 states and they expect to contribute over $500,000 to domestic violence programs nationwide, entirely funded through its cell phone collection program.
