Annual Golf Tournament

Please join us for a Day of Fun and Golfing for a Good Cause for our 12th Annual Sheriff Larry Campbell Refuge House Golf Tournament, which will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 at Southwood. We expect the event to attract over 100 golfers and raise money which will be used to purchase food for the more than 500 women and children we serve each year in our emergency shelter and transitional housing programs.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Domestic violence effects the entire community, and to raise awareness of what domestic violence is and what we can do as a community to stop it, Refuge House holds an awareness event each year at Lake Ella. Because October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, our event is held on the first Wednesday of October. We are always looking for organizations and businesses to help spread awareness of the violence many women and children face daily, and in addition, we welcome any forms of sponsorships to help with this event.

Sexual Violence Awareness Month
April is Sexual Violence Awareness Month-- a time to recognize the individuals who have survived sexual violence and support those who are experiencing sexual violence. Although we do not have a date set for this event quite yet, we will begin to plan for this event in January and will begin to look for community organizations and businesses to stand with us as we advocate for an end to sexual violence. If you are looking for ways to contribute to our Sexual Violence Program, we are always accepting donations of new underwear and bras (all sizes) as well as t-shirts and sweatpants to give to victims of sexual assault after completing a forensic rape examination. Since clothing is taken as evidence, we are always in need of these items.
